Applying to EAU

Is EAU right for you?
European-American University is not for everyone. We offer a progressive non-traditional program aimed at adults who are seeking a distinctly different solution to their higher education needs compared to that offered by mainstream universities. To succeed on one of EAU's programs, you will need to be motivated, self-directed and disciplined. You also need to be happy that pursuing a degree from a private university is the right choice for you, and that our accreditation status will be acceptable for your present and anticipated future needs. Reading this website in depth will offer answers to many of your questions, and we are happy to address further specific queries individually.

EAU believes that its programs offer strong advantages to the student. Our independence gives us the ability to offer highly flexible but rigorous methods for earning a degree at a lower cost and with greater efficiency than many mainstream universities. In awarding credit, we are guided by the application of academic standards and not arbitrary limits imposed by external political forces. Lastly, with our choice of campus-based, distance education or mixed mode study, we can offer a pathway to education that fits comfortably around your work and life responsibilities.

Application and Enrolment Process
At European-American University, the application process is individualized, conducted online (or in person at campus centres), and consists of an initial review of your background and proposals by the University's officers. The decision will then be taken as to whether or not to offer you a place.

You can apply at any time of the year. We operate a rolling admissions process and do not have set intake points. If you are from outside Africa and need advice before applying, please contact us using our enquiry form. If you are from within Africa, please contact the Hon. Co-ordinator for West Africa, Professor Williams A.O. Egbuta, by email. Click here for the email address.

Students applying via an EAU International Partner
If you are applying for a program offered on campus or mixed-mode via an EAU International Partner, you will apply via the campus concerned. The International Partner organization will give you details of the forms to fill out and will process your application. You will not need to contact the University directly as part of this process.
