The Church of the Ascension

Founded: By Archbishop George Boyer, who was consecrated in 1957 by Abp. Charles Brearley and in 1958 by Richard, Duc de Palatine. He became an important fellow-worker with de Palatine (who designated him as his successor). After de Palatine's death in 1978, Boyer continued his work through the Church of the Ascension. He was assisted by his wife Leila, whom he consecrated as a bishop.

Character: Strongly esoteric, transformational, initiatic, Gnostic, elements of Eastern teachings, some Masonic/Rosicrucian aspects.

Locations: Principally London, England, through a series of meetings, lectures and groups, and also worldwide through an extensive correspondence school.

Present status: Extant since +George Boyer's passing in 2008 under the name Pre-Nicene Ekklesia; in re-organization under Bishop Leila Boyer. Major initiatic heritages were passed to Bishop Dr. Lewis Keizer in 1993 and continue through the latter's Home Temple in California, USA.
