Careers advice from European-American University
Careers are an integral part both of your learning experiences at European-American University and also an understandable focus in planning for the future. Because the University's distance learning program allows for your degree to be directly tailored towards your working life and its concerns, with no need to repeat the study of material you can already prove that you know, we offer a learning experience that is of considerable value but at a reasonable cost. With us, your degree program fits around your other commitments at work or home, and there are no deadlines or time limit for completion. Furthermore, you have the advantage of one-on-one mentoring, an aspect which is otherwise available at only the most exclusive and expensive of universities.
In a traditional degree program, it has been estimated that the amount of course content that is subsequently applied to real-life employment situations may be as low as 10%. This difficulty in applying knowledge is exacerbated by the fact that the student will often have had to take time away from their career in order to study, for the number of programs particularly at the graduate level that are totally non-residential remains very small. Learning through European-American University, on the other hand, means that you do not have to uproot yourself and that you will be able to apply a very high proportion of your community-based learning on a daily basis.
We note that the career landscape is changing rapidly. Increasingly, with the departure of the "job for life", we are changing career more often, and not always at our own instigation. To cope with these changes, the individual needs to have a flexible set of skills and qualifications that can be applied to those situations that interest them. In particular, as a new area is embraced, new qualifications will need to be added. As we move into the twenty-first century, new careers will arise that do not exist now, and today's careers will change beyond recognition with the advance of technology. Fifteen years ago, almost no-one made their living through the World Wide Web and its predecessors. Now, many people do. What will you make of your future? Where will your dreams take you?
There are many careers in which a degree from European-American University will be valued and beneficial. To assist in your job search, we have compiled a list of sites that are useful for jobseekers. Your mentors can also offer more specific advice and counselling on your particular situation. On the other hand, if you are studying for a European-American University on-campus validated program, your learning center will offer a full range of careers advice and help.

Job placement services
Although some schools offer a job placement service, European-American University's global reach and present commitments prevent it from doing so at this time. Students are therefore responsible for their own job placements. EAU provides a list of general jobseeking resources on the Internet that it is hoped will be useful to the student at the link above.
