Mr Jason Derr
MA, DipC, AS
Field: Contemporary Theology

Jason Derr holds an MA in Theological Studies and diploma from Vancouver School of Theology, and has also studied at Eastern Washington University and Florida Metropolitan University. He is an ordained minister and theological consultant with the Progressive Christian Alliance and Curator/Director of the Emergent Theologians Group.

He has recently had an article published in Directions, an academic publication of the Mennonite Brethren church, and has invites and rewrites in progress for the Journal of Religion, Health and Disability as well a publication from the Center for Faith and Process at the Claremont School of Theology. He writes for Patheos.com and The Huffington Post and had his first book, "Towards a Theopoetic of the Cross", published by the Progressive Christian Alliance. He has given presentations as follows: “Postmodernity and the Church”, Bethany Presbyterian, Spokane, Wa, 2004, “Postmodernity and Campus Ministry”, Lutheran Campus Ministry, Cheney, Wa, 2004 and “Liberation and ADHD: A Liberation Theology Approach”, SoulSpace/Christ Church Cathedral, 2009.

He is past member of the Board of Directors of United Campus Ministry (2003-04) and Lutheran Campus Ministry (2004-07).
