Joint Award Program with Knightsbridge University
This program offers further options in terms of taught programs, and is administered jointly by the two universities leading to a joint degree award.
European-American University has established an affiliation with Knightsbridge
University, a private, independent university operating via distance
learning and located in Denmark. This affiliation enables candidates to
pursue taught programs leading to a dual degree award from both
institutions.
Knightsbridge University was established in Denmark in 1991 and has earned a reputation for its selective admissions policies and high quality provision as a self-regulating institution. Its alumni include royalty, senior diplomats, business leaders and many other men and women of influence and success in their fields.

Knightsbridge University is a private, self-validating institution. Although registered for corporate purposes in Denmark, the University is not part of the formal Danish higher education system. The only way to become part of this system is via government funding for individual programmes, in the way of loan and support schemes for the student. Such programmes must be full-time and free of charge to the student. Obviously, such a process is incompatible with the University's provision. As an aside, this system does not evaluate programme quality, but externals such as class sizes, gender quota, duration and start/finish dates.
The
photograph to the right shows Henrik Fyrst Kristensen,
vice-chancellor of Knightsbridge University, who has been responsible
for the development of the University since 1991. He is a strong
proponent of non-traditional distance education principles within a
flexible, professionally-focussed setting. How the program works
The Joint Award Program offers a traditional distance learning experience via coursework at bachelor's, master's and D.B.A. levels, and in many different fields. The program operates via correspondence study with course materials and assignments remitted via postal mail. The student is assigned a subject Mentor for the duration of the program drawn from the Knightsbridge University adjunct faculty, and is also supplied with all necessary course materials excluding books. Books may be purchased by the student anywhere that is convenient for them, but in any case of difficulty, Knightsbridge University will undertake to provide the prescribed texts for the student at cost price.
In certain special cases, dependent on individual circumstances, it may be possible for students to undertake only some of the modules of a taught program, for example, where significant prior credit has been transferred from another institution and that credit is compatible with module content within the taught program.
Successful graduates receive two degree awards at the conclusion of their program, one from Knightsbridge University and one from European-American University, together with a testamur that explains the joint nature of the award. It is anticipated that graduates will value the international mobility offered by the program and the opportunity to engage with two institutions whose aims and objectives are directly complementary.
Administration for the Program is undertaken jointly by the two universities. Students wishing to enrol on the Program must do so via European-American University (see Application), which processes all applications and liaises with Knightsbridge University as to admissions arrangements.
Students will be subject to the joint Regulations of both institutions.
