Professor Michael Onyekachi Aguziendu Nwaubani attended Teacher Training College Uzuakoli in Bende L.G.A of Abia State. On completion at TTC Uzuakoli, he taught briefly at Government College Umuahia, Umuopara Secondary School and Ofeme Technical Secondary School all in Abia State as a pivotal Teacher. In 1982, he proceeded to India for further studies and was admitted at Panjab University Chandigarh where he bagged a Bachelors of Commerce Degree (B.Com.) in 1986, Institute of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations for a PGD in Business Management & Industrial Administration (PGDBMIA) in 1987, Indian Management, Training and Research Institute, Jalandhar for a PGD in Labour laws and Labour Welfare (PGDLL&LW) in 1988, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, for a PGD in Banking (PGDB) in 1989, Panjab Computer Centre for a PGD in Computer Software Science (PGDCS) in 1990, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra for a Master of Commerce Degree (M.Com.) in 1992. On return to Nigeria in 1993, he briefly taught at Abia State Polytechnic Aba, and Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State. While at FUTO, he enrolled for another Masters degree in Financial Management Technology and obtained an M.Sc degree in Financial Management Technology. Subsequently, he enrolled for the higher academic programme of Doctor of Philosophy in Financial Management Technology and obtained a Ph.D degree in 2007 in Financial Management Technology.

Dr. Nwaubani has worked as research and Re-finance officer -IDBI Chandigarh India, as credit and disbursement officer - CBI Chandigarh India, as Lecturer FUTO Owerri, as Centre Co-ordinator, Michael Opkara University of Agriculture Umudike, and as Principal Consultant, Mocan Consult.

He is an Associate Member of Nigerian Institute of Management, and an Associate Member Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
