Distance learning programs at European-American University carry the following tuition fees. Although tuition fees are subject to change without notice, it is the University's policy not to increase tuition fees for students already enrolled on a program. There may be exceptions to this rule for those students who are not making satisfactory progress.

Fees for campus-based programs should be obtained from the International Partner institution directly.

Currency
All fees are given in US dollars, because this currency is the most widely used and understood internationally. To convert tuition fees into another currency, you can use the service at www.xe.com.

Would you prefer to pay in euros, pounds sterling or another major currency? Please mention this to the University when you apply and we will do our best to assist.

Costs not included in the tuition fees
Books are not supplied as part of any program, nor CDs, DVDs, fax, telephone or travel expenses or other similar incidental costs. Your University Mentor can assist you if required in finding sources to purchase the books and other materials you will need. The student is responsible for the costs of mailing materials to their mentor and to the University.

Financing your program
A wide range of external organizations offer financial help for students whose studies are not supported by an employer. The University, being entirely private and independent, does not participate in state financial aid programs and does not offer a general scholarship program at the present time, hoping that its overall efforts to keep its fees low will have an ameliorating effect on those in financial need. It is actively soliciting funds for such a scholarship program for students from developing countries, and invites parties wishing to contribute to make contact with a view to discussing participation. Scholarships may be disbursed generally or intended for a specific group of recipients. Where desired, the contribution can be acknowledged through identifying the name of the donor with the scholarship concerned, eg. the Morgan Edwards Scholarship.

Payment by Instalments/Bespoke Payment Plans
EAU allows those who prefer to design their own instalment payment plan and submit this to the University for approval.

Where spread payment of any portion of tuition fees has been granted, instalments must be received on or before the due date. Where arrears occur, the University will not send a reminder, but instead will automatically de-matriculate the candidate. Re-registration is possible, subject to a $150.00 fee, payment of arrears, and the University's discretion. If re-registration does not occur within 90 days of de-matriculation, any fees already paid will be forfeited. Candidates at risk of falling into arrears should contact the University to discuss their situation. DO NOT engage in an instalment payment arrangement unless you are absolutely confident that you can meet the associated terms.

How to Send Funds
1. Bank to Bank (wire) Transfer (preferred)
Instruct your bank that the Unversity must receive the exact amount invoiced. Only the amount received will be credited to your account. Please inform the University that this is your favored payment method and we will send you our bank details. Note that for certain high-risk countries we will not release bank details under any circumstances. In this event, you will need to use an alternative form of payment.

2. Western Union
You may transfer funds via your local Western Union branch. This is often both at least as fast as and less expensive than other payment methods.

3. Credit Card Payments

PAYMENT ONLINE: You can use a secure payment server to pay using any major credit card. Once your application is accepted, let us know this is your favoured method of payment and we will send you an email invoice that you can pay online.

If you are paying by instalments, we can make things even easier for you. Once your payment plan has been approved by the University, you can set up a schedule for online credit card invoicing at specified intervals.

Always remember to label your payment clearly and accurately. Under no circumstances should you send cash through the post or send us your credit card details; we do not process credit cards directly.

Payment via Bank Drafts, Cheques
We do not accept bankers drafts or cheques because of the increased prevalence of fraud using these methods.

Liability
European-American University accepts no liability for payments not received and cleared by our bankers. Checks received are normally paid to bank on the same day, and should be expected to clear ca. 7-10 days after. We accept no responsibility for cash payments, or any means of payment which is not specifically made out to EAU Educational Services and cannot be realised by any other party. Proof of sending does not constitute proof of receipt. All charges made to the University for banking transactions will be added to the candidate’s account balance.

The term "tuition" is in generic use, particularly in the United States, to describe the fees payable for an educational program or course. The term "tuition" does not imply that every program offered by EAU includes formal instruction. For example, some APEL programs follow an assessment-only route.
